Field Service Engineer UK

About The Position

Kornit Digital, a leading-edge company that develops manufactures and markets state-of-the-art printing solutions for the textile, garment & apparel decorating industries looking for a Field Service Engineer

Main areas of responsibility:       

·        Installation of new machines

·        Basic operator and maintenance training on customer site

·        Provision of scheduled maintenance

·        Remote diagnosis and phone support for customers

·        On site repair

·        Active contribution to Kornit’s service business

·        Perform installations of new Kornit printers

·        Unpack and position the equipment according to documentation

·        Review the system, connect, power up

·        Adjust all relevant components according to factory standards, guides and applicable instructions

·        Verify full functionality

·        Deliver end user training focusing on machine operation, routine maintenance work, and basic application knowledge

·        Deliver trainings to end users (print operators) and maintenance staff

·        Perform general maintenance to Kornit systems

·        Perform maintenance and adjustment work according to maintenance manuals

·        Replace wear and tear parts as described in the corresponding manuals

·        Perform on-site trouble shooting and repair

·        Whenever needed, realize an on-site problem analysis and diagnosis

·        Adjust, clean and repair defective parts

·        Replace parts and components when needed

·        Return defective, used and / or unused parts according to Kornit policies

·        Apply upgrades and product modifications as implemented by the product line

·        Perform remote trouble shooting

·        Provide 1st level support to customers experiencing issues related to their Kornit Digital printers and application SW over the phone and using remote tools, e.g. remote controlling Kornit Digital systems, retrieving log files and setting information, correcting and adjusting settings

·        Participate in support hotline coverage, including support during extended service hours according to a defined schedule

·        Document all activities described here using the systems and tools provided by Kornit for this purpose, currently salesforce.com service modules

·        Liaise with the Service Coordinator and Hotline Support Engineer regarding ongoing service cases

·        Escalate cases to the Technical Manager or Service Manager

·        Supply service case information such as Installation Field Reports (IFRs), Completion of Installation sheets (COIs), images or videos explaining specific situations or statuses

·        Promote Kornit’s service offerings such as service contracts and maintenance programs among our customers

·        Perform other related duties as required


·        Technical degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, digital, and electronic technology

·        Minimum of 5 years’ experience in field engineering positions servicing complex electro-mechanical devices

·        High travel activities, up to 70%

·        Knowledge of industrial inkjet technology, RIP/color theory and materials/chemicals used in the printing industry, experience in textile printing would be helpful

·        Knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Windows operating system

·        Self-motivating personality

·        Good communication skills and customer focused

·        Required language skills: English (fluent in writing and speaking)
