Hi Sharon, we\u2019d love to hear about your career path leading to your current role.<\/strong><\/p>\n

My first encounter with the tech world was right after my military service when I worked at Migdal Makefet Pension Fund as the Head of Organizational Methods, a role closely tied to IT. Despite my academic background in accounting and business administration, I was drawn to technology and have been on this path ever since, leveraging my financial expertise to bridge business needs with tech solutions.<\/p>\n

\u00a0My first significant role was at Yes, where I started as a financial ERP SAP implementer and was promoted to department manager within a year. This position allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of core business processes. Over the years, I managed the implementation of a CRM system, sales and technician solutions, and various digital transformation projects. Eventually, I led the entire development division.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Seeking new challenges, I joined Kornit Digital as a Business Process Manager and soon transitioned to my current role as CIO. In the past two years, I have led the implementation of a new ERP system, a PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system, and other digital solutions.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Tell us a bit about Kornit Digital and the industry it operates in.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kornit develops, manufactures, markets, and sells digital printers and inks for the textile and fashion industries. Our patented technology ensures precise color accuracy without requiring special fabric preparation, making it a leader in direct-to-fabric printing<\/a>. With offices worldwide, our clients include major players like Amazon, operating hundreds of Kornit machines.<\/p>\n

\u00a0What are the most significant challenges you\u2019re currently facing in your role?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I would highlight two main challenges.<\/p>\n

The first is adopting AI technologies. Building an efficient and ethical AI infrastructure raises questions about data accuracy, integration with legacy systems, and ensuring unbiased decision-making.<\/p>\n

The second challenge is cybersecurity. The rising threat of cyberattacks and increasingly stringent regulations around privacy protection demand constant vigilance and advanced security measures.<\/p>\n

Which project are you most proud of leading?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ERP system go-live at Kornit is a standout achievement. I took on the CIO role just months before the scheduled launch, and despite the challenges, we went live within two months. It was one of the most complex cloud-based ERP projects in Israel, delivered on time thanks to a dedicated and professional project team.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s talk about gender equality. Throughout your career, what challenges have you faced as a woman in tech, and how did you overcome them?<\/strong><\/p>\n

When I started my career, there were very few women in tech management roles. Fortunately, my first manager was a woman, which meant I didn\u2019t have to confront gender barriers early on. However, as I progressed, I often found myself to be the only woman in meetings or conferences. This required me to be assertive and proactive in making my voice heard. Over time, I gained confidence in expressing my professional opinions without hesitation. These experiences were instrumental in shaping my ability to lead in a predominantly male environment.<\/p>\n

As a senior leader in a male-dominated field, what advice would you give to young women aspiring to build careers in tech?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Confidence is key. Believe in yourself and don\u2019t hesitate to express your ideas. Seek mentorship and build a strong professional network. It\u2019s also essential to advocate for yourself\u2014whether it\u2019s negotiating a salary, a promotion, or new opportunities. Lastly, support other women in the industry. Lifting each other up helps break down barriers.<\/p>\n

What actions can organizations take to empower women in technology?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organizations need to ensure equal opportunities for women to advance to leadership positions. This includes actively promoting women to executive roles and highlighting female leaders as role models. Professional development programs are also crucial\u2014training, mentorship, and leadership development can significantly boost women’s career progression. Additionally, fostering an inclusive environment where women\u2019s contributions are valued in meetings is essential for empowerment.<\/p>\n

How do you see the IT landscape evolving in the coming years?<\/strong><\/p>\n

AI and automation will be central. However, cybersecurity will also remain a critical focus, with organizations investing heavily in protective measures. For IoT-driven companies, managing big data will become even more significant. I also foresee the hybrid work model evolving with enhanced digital tools to support remote and in-office collaboration seamlessly.<\/p>\n

If another CIO asked you: public, private, or hybrid cloud \u2013 what would you recommend?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It depends on the organization\u2019s priorities. For sensitive data, a private cloud offers superior security, albeit at a higher cost. Public cloud solutions are excellent for scalability and cost-efficiency. A hybrid approach often provides the best of both worlds, balancing security and scalability.<\/p>\n

Looking back, what would you have pursued if not a career in tech?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I can see myself as a fashion designer, an art curator, or a guide for unique travel experiences. I also have a passion for painting and sculpture, so perhaps something in the art world.<\/p>\n

Which podcast do you listen to that everyone should know about?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I highly recommend \u201cWiser Than Me\u201d by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She interviews incredible women in their 80s who share life lessons and stories with humor and wisdom. Their candidness at this stage in life is truly inspiring.<\/p>\n

Is there a company or a CIO you admire for their achievements in digital transformation?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maccabi Healthcare Services has done an impressive job. Their digital solutions, particularly the app, have transformed the customer experience by providing immediate access to medical services.<\/p>\n

As a leader, how do you manage your team effectively?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Communication is crucial. I believe in explaining the business rationale behind every task. When employees understand the bigger picture and how their efforts contribute to the company’s goals, they are more motivated and committed.<\/p>\n

\u00a0In conclusion, what\u2019s your message to organizations aiming to improve gender equality in tech?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Creating a diverse and inclusive environment should be a strategic priority, not just an HR initiative. This involves setting clear goals for gender diversity at all levels, providing equal opportunities, and ensuring that women\u2019s contributions are recognized and valued. Promoting female leaders and offering targeted mentorship programs can make a significant impact. When women thrive, the entire organization benefits.<\/p>\n
