July 10, 2017 – Kornit Digital today announces its participation in Avanprint, taking place July 17-19th, 2017 in the Javits Convention Center, based in fashion central New York, USA. Kornit Digital will team up with Brooklyn based design factories Nuprimary and Lectra for daily workshops at the Kornit booth V01 at 11am. Nuprimary will create live art designs, which will be then scanned by the Lectra technologies. Kornit Digital will process, rip and print these on site on the Storm Hexa on Bella+Canvas T-shirts, which will be handed out to visitors during the demo. The demo process will illustrate the rapid time-to-market of creativity when relying on top-notch digital printing technology.
Dressed to the nines
Avanprint (part of Texworld USA and in cooperation with World Textile Information Network/WTiN) is solely dedicated to showcase the value of the digital printing technology for the fashion, fabric and textile markets. Kornit Digital has been servicing the fashion and brand markets with high-level printing solutions for many years. As Avanprint brings together designers, fabric buyers, fashion professionals and manufacturers, it is the perfect platform for Kornit Digital to showcase its portfolio and show off a vast array of fashion applications. The Storm Hexa will be the eye catcher of booth V01, as it will be printing live throughout the show. It secures an eco-friendly process; the biodegradable ink complies with the strictest industry standards. It’s ideally suited to bring production back to the US as it meets the needs imposed by mid-sized businesses’ high-volume production. The Kornit Digital booth V01 will be adorned with direct-to-garment and direct-to-fabric fashion applications, ranging from dress wear to accessories to baby bedding, even.
Fashion on demand
Many brands are currently looking into insourcing the textile production. This would allow them to produce in-house sampling and shorten lead times in production in general. No more micro-run economics, but instead they’re bringing their core business back into the heart of the company. In a business dictated by the make-or-break first impression, designers need to assess quickly what works and what doesn’t. When creating a print design, digital print technology allows to physically test the design on the spot and even produce on demand quantities as required. This would not only mean a faster time-to-market in general, but could disrupt old business models based on large volumes for margins by enabling short-run, low-volume requests.
To substantiate this visionary approach, Tim Hallett, Marketing Director at Kornit Digital North America, will be presenting on reshoring the textile printing industry back to the US, the online booming effect within the fashion industry and the challenges that this market subsequently needs to face. Mr. Zimmerman will be presenting July 18th at 3.30pm during the Avanprint Seminar sessions.
Shai Terem, President of Kornit Digital North America, concludes:
“At Avanprint, we’ll truly practise what we preach: design, creation, production – all in one go. Insourcing digital print creates new ways of both conducting and doing business. It will free up time and margin for the creative team. At the same time, it creates new business models for the sales team. A one-off investment in digital printing technology will offer more than just the one return in the long run. It will be the dress for so many occasions. The Kornit Digital team is ready to show the Avanprint visitors the digital print ropes at booth V1.”
