Enhancing Range of End-to-End Solutions for On-Demand Textile Production

Integrations Will Supplement Sustainable, Digitized Textile Production with Automation and Curing Mechanisms for Streamlined Process, Superior Quality and Durability

Kornit Digital Ltd. announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Lichtenau, Germany-based Tesoma. The acquisition is expected to be completed on or before April 1, 2022, following the satisfactory completion of business transition and integration plans.

Tesoma is globally recognized for its expertise in high-quality engineering, automation, and performance of its cutting-edge textile curing solutions and their accompanying software components.

Tesoma’s technology and solutions align with Kornit’s vision for incorporating robotic process automation and digitizing the on-demand textile production process, with a seamless, sustainable, and streamlined end-to-end workflow that maximizes throughput relative to labor and materials, while optimizing product quality and versatility.

“This acquisition will further empower Kornit’s customers to operate an end-to-end production process with greater automation capability, exceptional retail quality, and a more expansive range of possibilities that will continue to validate our alternative model for the global fashion industry,” said Ronen Samuel, Kornit Digital Chief Executive Officer. “Kornit is writing the operating system for sustainable fashion and textile production on demand. Integrating Tesoma’s product into our automated workflow model and inheriting their best-in-class R&D and engineering team, further reinforces our vision of providing a turnkey solution for fashion brands and fulfillers seeking an exceptional, transparent production experience that delivers reliability, opportunity, and profitability.”

“Curing is a vital component of achieving fashion retail quality and durability. By supplementing Kornit’s revolutionary, eco-friendly print and workflow capabilities, our collective solutions will elevate the industry standard for embellishing textiles,” said Andreas Irmscher, Manager of Design Engineering at Tesoma. “Together, we will heighten the market’s expectations for clean, efficient, automated on-demand production, with a fully integrated solution that yields a superior, consistent, brilliant impression quickly.”

In addition to automating key steps of the production process, integrating Kornit’s print systems with Tesoma’s curing technology is expected to yield intelligent user functionalities, such as quality assurance mechanisms and industry 4.0 connectivity and functions.

“Tesoma’s impressive engineering capabilities will allow us to not only accelerate the development of more advanced curing and production, but also complement our research and development organization with a strong team of engineers who can prototype solutions in house, faster and more efficiently,” said Benzion Sender, Kornit Digital Executive Vice President of Research and Development. “This means customers can expect technology that is fully synergetic with our proprietary process to achieve superior print quality and reduced energy consumption.”
