In a world yearning for clarity and renewal, The Visionary unveils its annual forecast of pivotal trends shaping 2025-2026. While recent global events have challenged our perspectives, this year’s insights reveal not just shifts and transformations but pathways to resilience and meaningful growth. Though not every trend signals optimism, the emerging patterns weave a tapestry of stability and innovation that offers both guidance and comfort. Join us as we explore the defining forces across design, technology, consumer behavior, and sustainability that will reshape our creative landscape in the years ahead:
A very conspicuous trend, signs of which already appeared at the beginning of 2024, and even slightly before, is the yearning to disengage from technology and the media that surround us – to go back to “dumb” devices and disconnect from social media, along with a strong desire to turn inwards in order to gather strength and reconsider the way forward. This mood finds its visual expression in a wide range of visual disciplines that encapsulate these feelings. We see a strong presence of the color black, contrasted with beige and white in monochromatic ranges, along with elements of concealment, futuristic features, and a general sense of dimness and darkness. A
t the forefront of this trend is Kornit’s groundbreaking Vivido black ink, delivering a darker, deeper, and richer black than ever before—a feat rarely achieved with digital pigment ink. Achieving such intense blacks in digital pigment printing is no small feat, but Kornit’s expertise in direct-to-fabric technology makes it possible. The Presto MAX system is a game-changer, standing as the first digital pigment printer capable of delivering stunning results on black and dark fabrics, setting new standards in the industry while empowering creativity without compromise.

While this trend was already seen last year, it seems to be developing and undergoing a transformation in line with the spirit of the times, and will continue to accompany us in the coming years. This trend includes futuristic metallic accessories, and extensive use of silver as speckles of light to attract and draw the focus. The main visible change is the expression of these elements in a much more subdued, toned down and hinting manner that does not dominate and overshadow the entire visual field, perhaps another expression of the previously mentioned concealment and inward-turning.

Much has been said about the desire to reground and reconnect to the earth as a counter-reaction to the increasing expansion of technology. However, the impression is that this is taking a different form, with broader and more expansive offshoots through a cleaner visual expression of sprouting and budding, in earthy and beige colors, and this alongside a swampish presence highlighting the contrast and the expanses of nature. We see clean designs and very quiet, calming colors that tone down the background noises, along with chaotic furniture verging on a swallowing sense of a sinkhole.
The silhouettes tend to be very round and flowey with a tendency to show air and a more relaxed fit as opposed to the furniture and product that show more chaotic and amorphous shapes and styles. This aligns perfectly with Kornit’s sustainable production and POV, as the world embraces the trend of reconnecting to nature, there’s a growing demand for truly sustainable production practices that respect our planet’s resources. Kornit is leading this movement with its commitment to eco-conscious on-demand manufacturing. From eco-friendly inks to an end-to-end process designed with sustainability in mind, Kornit empowers brands to create with less water, less waste, and lower carbon emissions, ensuring fashion can thrive without compromising the environment.

Alongside the above-described trends, which may belong more to the realm of wishful thinking, we also see life itself happening, and it doesn’t stop for a second. While all the trends that were mentioned will receive their expression in one way or another, we cannot ignore the power of habits and of those things that are strongly ingrained and rooted in us. While everything described above is still on the fringes and will find its way to the mainstream in the next two years, the maximalist chaos is present in our lives now, we are experiencing it and will continue to experience it. Thus the large and puffy designs and colorful prints, together with a strong red, which take on a different tone influenced by the Republican movement and the recent elections in the United States. This trend is unapologetic and takes all its components to the edge, some of it thanks to the fact that the majority of humankind is already on edge. So if we’ve experienced something bright, it’s going to be much brighter, if a message is loud, it’s going to get louder, and if something is big, it’s going to get bigger.

It is well known that trends come and go, some leave their mark, some undergo a transformation and develop, and some simply disappear, just like that. Time will tell whether the trends described above will continue on with us for several years to come. However, the visual expressions and mood emanating from both the digital and real spaces suggest very strong elements that have taken root and are spreading spectacularly. They exist alongside each other, within each other, and against each other, and their complexity is the perfect visual expression of our developing complexity and of the complexity of the times in which we live.
Brands can adapt by adopting muted palettes and minimalist styles in products while pairing them with strong storytelling and selective use of bold accents. This allows them to capture the spirit of restraint without disappearing from customer attention.
It opens space for brands to differentiate by demonstrating genuine sustainability. Using sustainable textile printing solutions and materials, transparent production processes, and nature-inspired designs can work best. It appeals to environmentally conscious consumers.
They should embrace limited-edition drops, bold statement pieces, and maximalist campaigns that create excitement. At the same time, flexible production methods like on-demand digital printing help manage the unpredictability of fast-moving consumer tastes.
By blending innovation with sustainability. Brands should explore darker minimalism, subtle metallics, organic forms, and bold maximalist statements. At the same time they should be trying to adopt eco-conscious technologies such as on-demand digital printing.
