Web-to-Print (W2P) Definition

Web-to-print, also known as Web2Print or W2P, is the practice of online printing business. Web-to-print brings the costumer a lot closer to the print business as the online printing process opens up more opportunities from the physical domain. These opportunities include submitting print jobs, publishing online reviews/previews and designing directly on a website using rich user interfaces. Moreover, design reviews can be done online, enabling print houses, clients, and possibly graphic designers to create, edit, and approve computer-based online artwork. Some web-to-print software allows the client to alter the typeface, copy, images, and layout.

It is often possible for clients to upload their own unique content for automated print production. The web-to-print process creates an efficient and cost-effective way of printing, as streamlining the print production reduces the overall time spent on the printed project.
